Ceyda Tanc Dance seeks to create work that is accessible, enjoyable and empowering for audiences spanning ages, cultures and backgrounds.
Community and participation are at the core of our practice, encompassing a strong community of collaborators and participants. We are passionate about empowering women and girls, and reaching refugee and migrant communities in the UK through dance. We provide high-quality, artist-led dance activities for people of all ages and abilities, including bespoke commissions and intergenerational community workshops.
Ceyda Tanc Dance has a strong reputation for delivering excellent dance education nationally. Our youth companies are for talented dancers ages 11-19 who are committed to developing their technique and performance skills alongside a professional company.
Ceyda Tanc Youth Dance are four-time U.Dance finalists and were invited twice by Richard Alston to perform alongside his company at Theatre Royal, Brighton. Other performance highlights include The Place, the Barbican, Birmingham Hippodrome and Southbank Centre. In 2024 they were selected to perform at Sadler’s Wells Theatre as part of Making Moves national platform.
Our youth alumni have continued their training at prestigious institutions such as London Contemporary Dance School, Northern School of Contemporary Dance, Trinity Laban, Royal Conservatoire The Hague, Institute of the Arts Barcelona, Advanced Dance Institute Barcelona, University of Chichester and Rambert School.
